Invisible Women seek out and champion the work of women and filmmakers with marginalised identities who have been overlooked, un-credited or left out of the history of cinema. By drawing attention to these forgotten stories, we aim to reinsert female voices into the story of film.

We are delighted to announce that Invisible Women and Goethe-Institut Glasgow are collaborating on the 2027 edition of FOKUS: Films from Germany!

FOKUS is an annual Scotland-wide film festival celebrating German cinema, which will take place from 22 January to 28 February 2027.

For the 11th edition of FOKUS, archive activist collective Invisible Women have taken on the creative direction of the festival. The programme, entitled Wild Nights, Electric Days is a celebration of the rebels, disruptors and outsiders of German cinema. It features titles spanning almost a century of cinema, including archive classics, cult gems and highly anticipated new releases.

FOKUS 2027’s Opening Night film will be Sandra Wollner’s Everytime, which will screen in a special one-off preview at Glasgow Film Theatre on Thursday 21 January 2027.

The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks!

Everytime will be released in UK cinemas by BFI Distribution on 26 February 2027
